The New York Residency Program

Based in Manhattan, in the heart of the theatre center of the world, this elite program will be composed of the finest young career-bound performers from every corner of America. You will attend classes and workshops 8 to 12 hours-a-day, July 21st through August 3rd. The focus of the program will be on developing the personal and professional skills needed to survive and be successful as a professional actor, singer, or dancer--both in theatre and TV/film situations.
Special Aspects
You will be asked to specialize in either acting, voice, or dance, and will receive extensive individual instruction and evaluation. Over the course of the program, you will also prepare and perfect dynamic audition material and techniques which you will then be able to use in any academic or professional situation.

Seeing Broadway Productions
The group will see a minimum of eight Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, also meeting with and talking to as many cast members as possible. Students will also spend considerable time becoming familiar with NYC in depth.
Getting to Know New York City
As part of your residency experience, you will become familiar with the universities and professional schools, libraries and museums, Actor's Equity, city transportation, theatre restaurants and actor hang-outs, dance schools, private instructors, as well as agents and casting directors. There will also be enough "down time" for the group to sight see, shop, and socialize.

Workshop Performance Projects
In addition to performing daily in workshop, each week the group will stage special performances which will allow them to put their training into practice. All students will perform in these projects.

Housing and Food
All students will be housed in a quality hotel facility near our training sites in Manhattan. A nutritional breakfast, lunch, and a snack will be provided daily. Evening meals are not included since, on many occasions, these will be in the theatre district at restaurants the students will select in small groups. The fee for food has yet to be determined but will be approximately $15 per day.

Fees and Expenses
Individual student tuition for the New York Residency Program is $1895.00, subject to last minute increases in housing. This fee includes all costs for workshop, all private lessons, all housing costs, and tickets to all shows and performances. The fee does not include transportation to and from NYC, food (see above), and miscellaneous expenses such as subways, taxis, and personal spending money.
