What People Say About Centerstage

People are talking about us--and have been for years!
Here's a small collection of quotes and a compendium of compliments from host organizations, parents, students, and even total strangers, spanning years 1979 to the present.

This is just a note of thanks. I've gotten so very much out of this summer it's hard to put into words....I think a big part of it is I've learned so much about myself. I've accomplished so much in just 7 weeks, more toward my "self" than I have in 13 years of life. I really mean that, too....Thanks for teaching me so much! Thanks also most importantly for being a friend.--

    Katherine Anne Chrisman

I had the great pleasure to attend a performance of "The Year of the Child," produced and performed by Centerstage....The calibre of both the production and the performers was of a very high professional standard, which is quite exceptional for a non-professional company utilizing such young talent. Centerstage is in extremely competent hands to produce an original show with, for the most part, inexperienced young people and deliver such an outstanding performance.--

    Ernest Adams, Program Co-ordinator
    Ontario Place Corporation, Toronto, Ontario

I would like take this opportunity to thank you all for the fine performance you gave of "The Marvelous Land of Oz" here at the Sunnyvale Performing Arts Center....Please keep me informed of your company's plans for next summer. I would like to "keep up the tradition." Congratulations.--

Susan L. Manning, Performing Arts Coordinator
Sunnyvale Performing Arts Center, Sunnyvale, California

We really enjoyed the reunion production of "Pinocchio II"....I'm consistently amazed by the degree of professionalism demonstrated by the Centerstage players in their productions. It shows itself particularly in the little things--everyone stays "in character" all the time, there isn't a single movement by even the youngest actor that doesn't add to the total effect of the number, everyone sings so marvelously well together.--

    David M. DeBargere, Executive Producer
    KAET Channel 8

On behalf of the City of Laramie, Parks & Recreation Department, I wish to convey congratulations on the fine production of PINOCCHIO II as presented by the young men and women of Centerstage. I was somewhat amazed at the professional attitude and great pride displayed by all the troupe. Your efforts and those of the entire cast are to be commended. It is easy to see Centerstage represents the City of Phoenix as very capable Good Will Ambassadors--

Ralph Holen, Superintendent Parks & Recreation

Thank you very much for performing the "Year of the Child" at the Anaheim Senior Citizens Center on July 31. The musical was delightful and all of our clients enjoyed the production and were very impressed with the professionalism of the cast. I hope you keep us in mind if you travel near Anaheim in the future, Keep up the outstanding work!--

Jan Kleeman, Director, Anaheim Senior Citizens Center

Charleston Parks and Recreation Department and myself would like to thank you again for selecting Charleston as part of your tour. The performance, "The Five Rings," and the performers were sensational. We hope you include Charleston for the Summer of '85 Program.--

It was our pleasure hosting the Centerstage group this summer at our camp. Your performance was superb and our campers really enjoyed it. The kids in your tour have a lot to be proud of. Their enthusiasm and energy shone through in the performance. It was an absolute delight to have you stay at our community center. --

All my thanks go out to all of you for making Centerstage and my summer what it was! You are indeed the most talented people I've ever worked with....Each of you have your own style of handling situations--and that round affect helped make our group round, I can't tell you thanks enough.--

    Nick

Things were pretty boring when I got back from all the excitement of tour. I was Centerstage sick, I missed everything about Centerstage....You treated me so well, like you were my parents. And if Centerstage USA ever comes by Washington, come by my house....sometime this month I'm going to audition at a dinner theatre for "The King and I." And in the winter I'm going to audition for "Oliver!"--

    Raika

    P.S. Greetings from my parents.

I know that everyone in the audience at Naval Air Station Miramar enjoyed watching Centerstage's production....I hope we can work out the details for one or more shows at naval installations in Southern California for the Summer of 1988.--

    Stacy Berman, Navy Entertainment Program
    Naval Training Station, San Diego

Now that Melissa is home and settling back into the old routine (which by the way isn't very exciting after Centerstage) I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you what a wonderful program we think you have. This was definitely a very positive experience for Melissa. Not only did she meet many new friends, learn about the theatre, perform and travel, but she has something to remember for a lifetime....By the way, Melissa is already saving her money so she can return next year. Thank you again. You and your staff have something very special.--

    Cheryl McQuiston
    Seattle, WA

On behalf of the Town of North Elba Summer Recreation Program I want to thank you all for the outstanding performance you gave today....it was an extreme pleasure to see the wonderful talent that you all have. I wish you luck in the future and I hope you enjoy your stay in Lake Placid. Hopefully you can return again sometime.--

Butch Martin, North Elba Park District

This letter is definitely overdue. It's a thank you letter. A thank you for all the support and recommendations you give to the Martin family....Our first show with you was "Oliver." It was there the children grew in their love, knowledge, and want for the theatre. In Centerstage, Kris learned many audition techniques and has sine put them to the test with positive results....Tiffany has actually built her confidence and is now auditioning for shows she never felt she could make...--

Ah, what sweet memories come back when I think of Centerstage. What a defining experience in my life and career!--
